This is a beautiful movie which blends two distinct strains - a wildlife conservationist's work with Orcas ( or Killer whales as they are commonly referred to ) and a mother`s desperate bid to provide relief to her autistic child which makes her travel thousands of miles from Spain to Argentina .

Set against the backdrop of the coastline of the vast Patagonian desert, the movie has got some breathtaking visuals which are very different from the ones we are commonly accustomed to. The film first introduces us to Beto , the protagonist of the movie , who is a Orca watcher living in a cabin in a remote isolated location .He is a loner and is totally dedicated to the Orcas and has developed a special relationship with them. He often goes into the sea to play and swim with them ,even playing his harmonica for them.

This monotony is broken by the sudden arrival of Lola and her autistic son , Tristan , from Madrid. Lola tells Beto that Tristan smiled on watching Beto play with the Orcas on TV and hopes that being closer to him and the Orcas could probably help Tristan recover. Beto , while initially not too willing to be disturbed from his status quo , reluctantly agrees to let them stay. Slowly Beto and Lola develop a relationship while Tristan also starts becoming better , even starting to communicate with the Orcas himself.
This is a must watch movie , especially if you are a wildlife enthusiast. Interestingly , this movie is based on real life and that`s what makes it all the more fascinating. Frankly speaking , I had never heard about Orcas before watching this movie and it set me looking them up on the Internet to learn more. I`m sure that this will kindle the same kind of interest in you and your kids. Talking of kids , this is a pretty clean movie except for a couple of occasions where Beto`s boss uses the F word.
Stunning landscapes , a gregarious bunch of sea mammals, a cute little boy and a subtle romance....The lighthouse of the Orcas beckons and it is well worth a visit !
